A checklist before you apply for a healthcare job
Review a healthcare job’s location, schedule, requirements, source, and application route before sharing your profile.

Read beyond the job title
Two postings with the same title can describe different working arrangements. Read the description for the care setting, patient population, reporting structure, and day-to-day work. Record anything you need the hiring team to clarify instead of assuming it from the title.
Check the city and state, employment type, and any schedule details. A travel listing, a temporary assignment, and a permanent position may each require a separate conversation about dates and availability.
Compare the stated requirements with your records
Check the qualifications the employer actually lists. Keep your resume and profile accurate, and distinguish completed credentials from training in progress. If a requirement is unclear, ask the employer before representing yourself as eligible.
A missing salary or license field is missing information. Do not interpret it as a promise about compensation or permission to work without a credential.
- Review the responsibilities and stated qualifications.
- Confirm location and employment preferences in your profile.
- Write down questions about schedule, supervision, onboarding, and compensation.
Check where the application goes
Practica includes jobs posted by clinics and jobs imported from public employer feeds. Review the source shown on the listing. Imported jobs link to the original application page; follow that employer’s process and review its current posting.
For a clinic application submitted through Practica, applying shares your profile with that hiring clinic. Candidate discovery is a separate opt-in setting. Review your profile and discovery preference before you proceed.
Keep a simple application record
Save a role while you compare options. For each application, record the employer, role, date, application channel, and any next step the hiring team gives you. An external application may need to be tracked in your own record.
Before an interview, reread the job description and your submitted information. Prepare specific questions about the work and bring any documents the employer requested through its application process.
