Licensed practical nurse resume: organize experience and concrete evidence
Organize licensed practical nurse experience, credentials, and a clearly labeled sample bullet without invented metrics or overstated responsibilities.

Choose evidence for the actual vacancy
Show the care setting, the team you worked with, and how you reported observations and completed assigned responsibilities. Place current credential information where a reviewer can find it without using a long skills list to imply broader authority.
Collect examples of accurate documentation, communication with the supervising nurse, and consistent follow-through on assigned care. Identify your own role in medication-related work without implying prescribing or independent assessment authority.
Keep a complete work-history document and make a focused version for the opening. Place the most relevant setting and responsibilities first within each job. Preserve accurate titles, employers, and dates even when you change the order of your examples.
Use a work example with an action and context
The following is an illustrative bullet, not a claim about your experience. Adapt its structure only when the work is true for you. A useful bullet identifies the action, the setting or workflow, and the handoff or result you can substantiate.
Recorded observations during assigned resident care and communicated changes to the supervising nurse during the shift handoff. Replace resident care with the population you actually served and describe your own reporting process.
Check each word against a task you performed. Replace broad claims such as expert or responsible for everything with a concrete responsibility. Include a number only when you know its source and have permission to share it; a clear nonnumeric description is more useful than a fabricated improvement.
Label qualifications and training accurately
Gather education details, employment dates, and the license information the employer requests. If a posting uses both LPN and LVN, confirm which work location the application covers and where the employer checks eligibility.
Separate employment, placements, coursework, and volunteer work with clear headings. For a credential, use the issuing organization and your actual status where relevant. A course, an examination booking, and a completed qualification are different facts; keep them distinct.
- Can I explain every listed skill with an actual example?
- Are supervised activities labeled as supervised?
- Does the resume preserve my actual job titles and dates?
- Have I removed patient details and confidential employer material?
Check the document the employer will read
Confirm permitted duties through the relevant authority and employer process; do not infer identical responsibilities from LPN and LVN titles across locations.
Use ordinary headings and readable text. Follow the posting's requested file format, open the saved document, and check that names, contact details, headings, and dates are intact. Compare the uploaded version with the application fields before submission. Save the exact version with the posting so you can prepare for an interview using the same evidence the reviewer received.
